Marcus Wallin

Marcus Wallin
I am Associated Professor in Environmental Analysis and my research is focused on the landscape carbon balance. Here we investigate how carbon is cycled and transported between soil, water and atmosphere, and how this cycling is affected by different anthropogenic pressures.

Presentation

I am interested in the landscape carbon (C) balance and particular the influence of streams, lakes and coastal areas and their function as processors of C and as conduits for transferring C across the terrestrial/aquatic/atmosphere interfaces. Much of my research focus on 1) the terrestrial/aquatic hydrochemical connectivity and how it is affected by human disturbances. 2) aquatic/atmospheric interactions with focus on controls of the exchange of C between water and air.

Teaching

I am course leader for Geology and Hydrology (Mv0226), 7.5 hp which is given within the bachelor programs in Biology and Environmental science, and Crop production. I have also teaching within the courses Natural resources for energy systems in a biogeochemical perspective (BI1360) and  Environmental Assessment (Mx0152).
