This transdisciplinary collaboration contributes to the development of research themes at SLU that capture synergies across SLU’s priority areas for global development and the global goals for sustainable development, using urban sustainability as an entry point. 

Informal Settlements and Sustainable Urban Development: Towards a more inclusive urban agenda

On 14th September 2021, SLU Urban Futures and SLU Global co-hosted a webinar focusing on the dynamics of sustainable urban development in the context of informal settlements, asking how informal settlements form part of an inclusive urban agenda.

Urban perspectives on how can we create fair and sustainable food systems

On 20th April 2021, SLU Urban Futures together with SLU Global hosted international guests in an interactive webinar. The event highlighted the interconnection of urbanization with the ambition to achieve healthier, equitable and more sustainable food systems.

A review of projects connected to low and middle-income countries at SLU, conducted by SLU Urban Futures and SLU Global. The report illustrates the relevance of urban research connected to the global south by drawing upon relevant literature and policy documents.
