Åsa Ode Sang is professor of urban vegetation design since 1 November 2020. Her inauguration lecture has the title "Urban greenery that protects and invites".

Åsa Ode Sang researches how urban vegetation affects citizens’ wellbeing, and how it addresses challenges such as flooding, heatwaves, air pollution and noise. How can the nature-based solutions afforded by the ecosystem services of vegetation be harnessed and contribute to positive experiences for citizens? Åsa Ode Sang and her colleagues are running full-scale experiments around the outdoor environments of Campus Alnarp, where they are looking at forms, maintenance, composition of species, structure and dynamics in relation to ecosystem services and human experience.
