Children get to shape green spaces at Malmö Festival

In August, SLU Urban Futures and Växtplats Botildenborg are organizing activities in Malmö Festival's Children's Land. The aim is to arouse children's interest in sustainable urban development and listen to their views on the city.

Research from SLU and other institutions shows that there are many benefits to giving children greater ownership of their local environment. Over the course of two days, children will grow herbs, create seed bombs, and mark their favorite places in Malmö on an interactive map.

The collaboration between SLU Urban Futures and Botildenborg is founded on a shared desire to create inclusive, green, and healthy urban environments — and to empower the next generation to help shape the future.
