My project aims to improve the understanding of what causes toxicity in water at the molecular level. Effect-directed analysis (EDA) is developed and applied, which includes fractionation of polar organic environmental pollutants, analysis through bioassays as well as target, suspect, and non-target screening using liquid chromatography connected to high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS).
