SLU Genome Center

Last changed: 06 March 2024

Uppsala: SLU Genome Center at Campus Uppsala is a "core facility" / infrastructure. SLU Genome Center support the researcher in planning and performing genetic evaluations.

We work close to the Animal genetics laboratory and the Canine biobank (in Swedish) and can, together with SLUBI, provide support and assistance for researchers from the initial steps of DNA/RNA extraction to bioinformatic evaluation of sequencing data.

The infrastructure provide support for, and access to, equipment such as QiaSymphony SP (DNA, RNA extraction from different material for example, blood, tissue, virus etc), NanoDrop 8000 (quantification of DNA/RNA/protein), 4150 TapeStation System (quantification and integrity check of DNA/RNA), ABI 3500XL Genetic Analyzer (fragment, sanger sequencing), QX200 Droplet Digital PCR System (digital PCR based on water-oil emulsion droplet technology) NextSeq 500 Sequencing System (genome/transcriptome sequencing), ONT MinION (genome/transcriptome sequencing) and GeneTitan™ MC Fast Scan Instrument (Genotyping arrays from Axiom, different species).

Available to researchers at SLU. Available to researchers at universities within and outside Sweden in collaborations.
