Last changed: 15 October 2021

The data set is comprised of aggregated stand and stem data from the first Swedish National Forest Inventory conducted during the period 1923-1929.

During the first Swedish National Forest Inventory the field inventory was conducted using a 10m wide transects with a continuous survey. The distance between transects was larger in the north of Sweden than the south. The dataset contains aggregated stand and stem data from the first Swedish National Forest Inventory 1923-1929 for 31 385 segments with the majority of segments having a dimension of 10mx2km. This dataset can be used for comparisons with historical sources, to create different types of maps and for creating county level statistics. If you would like to compare the data with current data from the Swedish National Forest Inventory it is important to take into consideration changes in both inventory methods and definitions.
