Dag Fjeld is a professor of forest technology, specialising in logistics since 1 maj 2020. His inauguration lecture has the title "Forest logistics – smarter solutions for working in the woods"
Dag Fjeld´s research area is forest logistics, which simply put is about getting the wood from forest to customer. His aim in research is to deliver smart solutions to practical challenges, which range from strategic aspects of raw material sourcing and supply system development, through wood flow and stock planning to the final management of harvesting and transport operations. He finds it useful to focus on stakeholder capabilities and is a keen advocate of cooperation in research, dissemination, and training.
