Environmental psychology: an interdisciplinary field that focuses on the transactions and interrelationships between individuals and groups with their surroundings.

Transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary: an interdisciplinary field is about research efforts to work with the synthesis between different disciplines, into a coordinated whole, ie: environmental psychology. Transdisciplinary integrates an interdisciplinary discipline with societal agents in a critical humanities context, transcending all traditional boundaries. 

Evidence based design the process of basing design decisions about the built environment on credible research to achieve the best possible outcomes for the needs of the user of the environment.
