Doctoral courses

Last changed: 03 February 2023

As part of their doctoral studies, students produce a thesis and take courses that fall under their subject area.  These courses help the student develop their knowledge and skills on a particular subject.

Many courses and activities are organised by SLU´s thematic Research schools.

Doctoral students will also develop transferrable skills in areas such as pedagogy and leadership.  They study the philosophy of science and research ethics in order to assist them in their future profession as scientists. SLU's general basic courses help candidates develop and practise general skills.
