His work has focused on the dynamics of the arrival and spread of forest pathogens in Europe. His research encompasses pathogens' early detection and diagnosis. He is interested in the analysis and management of the risk of introducing alien forest pathogens through different pathways and the ecological impacts of invasive non-native species.
