This project aims at sharing and developing knowledge about reindeer health and disease.

This project is run by SLU, SVA (the National Veterinary Institute), Farm and Animal Health (former Animal Health Service) and the Sami Parliament of Sweden and aims at sharing and developing knowledge about reindeer health and disease. The project includes courses for veterinarians and seminars for the reindeer herders and others with professional interest in reindeer health issues. An important part of the project is the building of a web page on reindeer health and diseases posted on the Farm and Animal Health website. In addition to images and texts about reindeer diseases and parasites, the webpage contains general information on reindeer biology and reindeer husbandry. The project also involves collection and analysis of disease registrations from reindeer slaughter.
