Poo-eating maggots can be animal feed

Maggots can convert latrine waste into animal feed, according to a study done at SLU. The larvae of the black soldier fly, used in the study, is an excellent source of protein in animal feed, while the volume of the treated waste is drastically reduced. Larvae treatment of waste also reduces bacteria, including salmonella.
