Figures on organic production and sustainability

Statistics Sweden has collected statistics to provide an overview of the development of agriculture in Sweden from a sustainability perspective. Organic production has got its own chapter.
The chapter on organic production in the report “Hållbarhet i svenskt jordbruk” presents how the proportion of organic acreage and organic livestock has increased and how this relates to the national goals of organic production. There is also a section about the organic market.
The sources of statistics on organic production include previously published statistics from the Board of Agriculture, “Ekologisk växtodling 2010” and on data from the Environmental Objectives Portal. The statistics are compiled by Statistics Sweden on behalf of the Swedish Board of Agriculture, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the Federation of Swedish Farmers.
