Published: 30 January 2013
The leg health of organic pigs was not affected much by the race of the father. However, the herd, sex, season and age had some impact. The results also show aspects that can affect weight and growth.
In her thesis have agronomist student Christina Eliasson investigated leg health of pigs in commercial organic herds. The results show that the race of the father has little effect on the pig’s movements and exterior, while herd, sex, season, age, and determination time had some effect. The results also show that weight and growth were affected from the race of the father, herd, sex and season.
