Three new fact sheets on the benefits and challenges of animals being outdoors in organic production have seen the light. The sheets cover cattle, pig and poultry and is part of the documentation of the seminar “Det är inne att vara ute” (“It's hip to be out there”) that EPOK arranged 20-21 November 2012.
“Allowing animals to be outdoors is an important part of organic husbandry. Being outside will mean good animal welfare and a good economy without increasing the risk of animals getting affected by parasites. Neither should it cause losses of nutrients into water and air.”
