Development of intelligent control systems for greenhouse lighting system with a high proportion of local renewable energy

The project will develop an intelligent control system to optimize the operation of greenhouse lighting systems with a high proportion of local renewable energy by means of adaptive control strategies, Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms and optimization of integrated control in green house lighting systems.
An intelligent lighting system for a greenhouse will be integrated and adaptive control algorithms based on biological inspired approaches will be designed and tested for energy efficiency of the lighting. Through this, lighting will be optimized, energy minimized and the greenhouse will be adapted to handle a larger amount of local renewable energy production.


The project is funded by Energimydigheten and performed in cooperation between Karlstad University, SLU, SC Burman AB and Glava energy center.
