Pellet development (PELS)

Last changed: 20 August 2020

Pellet development to meet future product, safety and emission demands.

The aim with this project is to develop and improve the pellet quality to meet future product demands with focus on emissions and self-heating at storage and emission and efficiency demands at combustion. Other areas covered by the project is test and verification in full industrial scale of newly developed mechanical dewatering technique to heavily reduce the energy consumption in drying of the raw material before pelletizing.

The project is expected to give new basic knowledge that can be used as design for new, changed or improved products and processes. The project is constructed for effective distribution of information to industrial partners. The project is a cooperation between SLU, department of forest biomaterials and technology; RISE, unit of energy and bioeconomy and unit of Safety and the Swedish pellet industry.
