Undergraduate level
The department primarily teaches in the skogsvetare and Forest Business Management programmes at the undergraduate level. To learn more about thoose, please switch to the Swedish page.

Advanced level
At the advanced level, we organise two master programs in Business Administration and Bioeconomic Management, both in Ultuna. The focus is on forest value chains from an economic perspective. We excel in environmental and natural resource economics mainly through CERE (Center for Environmental and Resource Economics), which is a collaboration between the Department of Forest Economics and the Department of Economics at Umeå University. At Umeå University, there's an opportunity to pursue a master's program with an environmental economics profile.

More on the Master in Forest Business Administration
You use business economic theories to understand the forest industry and its societal part. The education is centered around the forestry sector and sustainable development. You'll do courses on the global forestry sector, advanced marketing, sustainability reporting and key performance indicator analysis, wood science, as well as circular bioeconomy and forest value chains. Specialize in management and innovation management and conclude your studies with a master thesis in business administration.
Research Education
Our department is an international one. With us you’ll work with people from all over the world studying subjects like economics, business administration, forest policy, and bioeconomic management. While here, you will also meet fellow researchers at Umeå University through the Centre for Environmental and Resource Economics and be part of the Faculty of Forestry's research school SILVA with PhD students from different subject areas.
