Save the date: Welcome to an inspiring day about interdisciplinary research and education at SLU. During the morning, the thematic groups from Interdisciplinary Adademy 2023–2024 present their projects and experiences of interdisciplinary research.

The Interdisciplinary Academy (IDA) is an initiative aiming to increase knowledge about interdisciplinary working methods throughout SLU. The core of IDA is interdisciplinary research groups that for eight months get the opportunity to develop their ability to work interdisciplinary together and in an inspiring environment. 

The second round of IDA started in autumn 2023 and on 17 September the two theme groups present their respective projects and experiences of interdisciplinary research. This takes place in connection with a full day on the role of interdisciplinary research and education within SLU.

The Interdisciplinary Academy (IDA) provides an oportunity for SLU researchers from all faculties to increase their knowledge of and interest in interdisciplinary research and to strengthen their ability to address research issues from an interdisciplinary approach. IDA is initiated and led by SLU Future Food, one of SLU's four future platforms, and is also supported by the NJ faculty.

SLU Future Food is a platform for research and collaboration to develop knowledge, solutions and innovations aimed at ensuring that the entire food system is characterized by economic, ecological and social sustainability to overcome tomorrow's challenges. The research addresses both plants and animals, from the smallest molecules to global systems.

ONSITE participation

  • The seminars will be held in Room L, Teaching house at Campus Ultuna, Uppsala
  • No show policy: To reduce food waste, please let us know if you cannot attend the meeting. Send an e-mail to futurefood@slu.se at least one day in advance. If you do not, we will charge you a fee of SEK 300.

ONLINE participation

  • You are also welcome to participate in the meeting via Zoom. The link will be sent out some days before the event.
  • Digital participatione is eco-friendly and convenient, but you will miss the all important networking.

Please note

  • The event will be conducted in English but questions and discussions may be conducted in Swedish
