Molecular biotechnology

Molecular biotechnology is the science in which biological macromolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids are developed or modified to be used in technological applications.
Researchers at our department aim to develop protein-based functional nanomaterials and to engineer novel enzymes for biofuel production. We also apply protein engineering to study the mechanisms of protein self-assembly.
