Barents Forest Forum is a cooperation platform for stakeholders in the forest sector situated in the Barents region.
The fourth Barents Forest Forum conference is taking place in Umeå, Sweden, as part of the Swedish chairmanship of the Barents Forest Sector Network. The conference expects participants from business, policy, research and development, and education to discuss the biobased future in relation to Northern Europe. In particular, the multiple-functions of forests in a future bioeconomy (e.g., society’s mitigation and adaptation to climate change, biobased products, and forest-based innovations) are in focus, in combination with labor supply, equal opportunities, and forest-related education.
The first day of the Barents Forest Forum invites participants to a pre-conference workshop focused on labor supply, equal opportunities and education. The second day comprises of high-level practice-oriented presentations and networking. The last day of the event focus on practical demonstrations in forest-related excursions.
