An important part of our work at the fisheries research station is to welcome guest researchers. SLU scientists use our facilities for different experiment, but the station is open to other departments or actors outside academia.
We take care of fish – and scientists
The facilities available here is a unique national resource. We have:
- Constant access to fish
- A large amount of fishholding tanks
- Aquarias
- Hatchery
- Stream aquaria
In the stream aquaria you can study fish in running water under full control.
In addition, we have:
- An outdoor experimental creek
- Natural dams
- A research river in part of Dalälven
The competent staff is well worth mentioning, they have long experiment of rearing of fish, fish - and scientists.
