Forecast forest berry flowering and ripening

The Unit performs assessments of forest phenology since 2006, including counting flowers, unripe and ripe berries on two forest berry species; Bilberry and Lingonberry. These are used as the basis for the forecast models on flowering and ripe berries you can find here.

This years weather data is used to calculate the temperature sum (threshold +5°C) up until present day, and for the coming days, averaged 30-year daily average air temperature data from the same weather station are used to produce the forecast.
