Precisionsdjurhållning för hållbar animalieproduktion

Kursen syftar till att ge kunskaper om precisionsteknologi för animalieproduktion (Precision Livestock Farming, PLF) inklusive förståelse av dess principer och ramar, utformning och utvärdering med inriktning på slutanvändarperspektiv och kommersialisering.

Literature

The literature in the course will consist of various scientific papers and other sources of information. The literature will be available on the course platform on the different modules and released successively.

As an introduction to the topic of precision livestock farming, we advise you to read the papers "General introduction to precision livestock farming" by D. Berckmans and “Animal Welfare Implications of Digital Tools for Monitoring and Management of Cattle and Sheep on Pasture” by Herlin et al. The latter paper introduces the topic and the various applications in animal farming.

Describe how PLF could be used to monitor, manage and control livestock production within its various branches and discuss the role of PLF in modern livestock production
