Carola Wingren (PhD) holds an artistic professorship in Landscape Architecture since 2003, and is orientated towards Landscape Aesthetics. In her actual work she investigates the act of design in relation to landscape transformations caused by climate as well as cultural changes (sea level rise, urban green in densified city, cemetery design etc). Former to her academic career she has during more than 20 years participated in landscape planning and design projects from the basis of different landscape studios as well as her own (urban design, roadscapes etc), and has among other Projects designed the Water Park in Hyllie, Malmö. She was in the 1990ies one of the editors of the Swedish landscape review ‘Utblick Landskap’. Wingren has won a number of prizes in landscape architecture competitions, and been part of several architecture juries. She has also represented the Swedish landscape architects internationally as delegate in both the worldwide IFLA and the European EFLA organizations. Wingren’s approach to landscape architecture is situated in a transdisciplinary field between practice and research, and she publishes both scientifically and popular – articles, book chapters and lately the books “Urbana nyanser av grönt" and "Landskapet och skissen".
