Seminars in Clinical Sciences
Content:
The course is in the form of a seminar series, generally to be held during one hour each Thursday during the spring and autumn semesters. The sessions are also open to all persons interested in the field of clinical sciences (e.g. junior and senior researchers, post-doctoral students, master students
and personnel involved in or with an interest in clinical science research). Each session will consist of a third cycle student or researcher presenting his or her research (including aim, background, materials and methods, and if available, results, discussion and conclusions). The presentation should aim at being between 25 – 30 minutes in length. At each session one of the participants is introducing the speaker and moderating the following discussion (focused on questions from the audience to the presenting student) that will last for 5 – 20 minutes.

Third cycle students and veterinary residents with an interest within the field of Clinical Sciences at SLU.Mål
After completing the course the student shall: Be able to orally present the students´ own research project in a pedagogic and scientifically sound way. Be able to actively discuss background, study design and methodological methods of relevance to the students´ own area. Be able to identify weaknesses of the students´ own research project. Be able to moderate other student´s presentations and questions from the audience. Be able to discuss other students´ study design after attending their oral presentations.Innehåll

The course is extended to include all research in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and is open to all research students and residents within this area.The course will run during 2 years and during that time approximately 30 – 50 seminars will be held. Exact dates and times of the seminars will announced latest two days in advance. Generally, one seminar is held each Thursday between 12:00-13:00 in Tanngrisner, 5th floor in the VHC-building. Attendance should be notified in advance through Outlook invitation or to the course organizer if the participant would like a small lunch sandwich during the following session.
