Measuring performance and value of social innovation – pertinence of social return on investment analysis
This research project focuses on measuring performance of social innovators. With innovative products and services, social entrepreneurs can be significant providers of solutions for sustainable development and poverty alleviation. The growing number of social purpose ventures requires credible and fair methods to measure the created value. By combing methods from consumer research and development evaluation, the project aims to develop existing impact evaluation/measurement methods such as the Social Return on Investment (SROI), to provide social entrepreneurs and social innovators with valid and reliable ways to measure the difference that their product or service makes to the recipients. A mix of qualitative and quantitative methods is used. This research project is conducted in collaboration with Peepoople AB and Peepoople Kenya.
